Minor & Feeder league stats wonky: advice needed.
I'm currently in a very fun online league, and we've run into a bit of an issue with the statistics coming from the minor leagues and the NCAA/High School feeder leagues we have set up. Here's a quick snapshot of the situation in the affiliated minors. I have the stats from the 2019 season in our league and the real-life 2017 stats (presumably the baseline for OOTP 19 stats):
2019 OOTP Cal League: .280/.354/.438, 5.75 runs per game
2017 Real-Life Cal League: .265/.331/.409, 4.92 runs per game
Basically every level in our affiliated minors is about +.050 points of OPS compared to the 2017 numbers.
The situation with our feeder leagues is even weirder. The batting line for our 56-college NCAA league looks mostly normal: .263/.326/.373. However, strikeouts have dropped to just 4.0 K/9, and there were more triples hit than home runs. The situation is basically the same for the high school leagues.
I know the answer to our "issue" is going to be with using the League Totals & Modifers settings. But, I don't understand how they work. Should we be using the "League Totals" column? Or the modifiers? How do we calculate what the modifers "should" be? Should we be using any of the checkbox settings, like "Lock league total stats" or "Automatically adjust league totals modifiers for accuracy"?.
Any advice would be appreciated.
