Recalc in league with historical and nonhistorical players

Let's say I have a historical league and create a new player in that league and give them good ratings. When the system recalcs, will the players ratings take a dive? Or will the system recognize that he's not in the system and let development take its course?

The games uses the development engine when there are no historical stats for a player. It works this way for historical players that have retired in history but are still active in your game. It should also work this way in your case.
