How to adjust start date of entry into game

It's frustrating to start a new game the day before opening day. Is there a way to set up a new game so that you join in right after the playoffs close so you can participate in building the team before opening day?

If you are playing with all the leagues selected you should start in the beginning of March. If your MLB the teams won't play spring training because it already happened.

I forget exactly which league has an early start date but if that league is in your universe then the overall start gets pushed back some.

I think Mexico default league start date is march 22 and China's default is around the same time. So its probably one of those leagues that pushes the universe start date back.

I think you start around March 17th as my logs show my 1st trade was March 17th, 2018.

March 5th is the start date of the MLB quickstart

Saving the MLB league as a template and adding it to another league that has the startdate you want will do the trick.
This way will let you start the current game at whatever date you want, you just CAN'T go back in time to that date and have everything undone.

Just start Unemoyed, sim until the date you want to start, then either join any team that offers you a job, or use Commish mode to give yourself a job at the team of your choice.

if fictional, you can even delete entire history before that point and it's just as if you started. you can start day one of offseason, if you wanted.

in fact if it is a fictional league i'd recommending simming ~20 years or so to turn over league with draft-created payers. pre-date, sim overnight, then delete history. the benefit is a more robost mil system league-wide, ~consistency with normal volatility of player quality (unless you choose otherwise, of course), and a more robost FA -- no matter when you start on calendar as long as you compare to similar date. simply put, the initial players are not quite the same as players created for the draft. once they are replaced in league, things will be "more" normal... until you change settings

i'm pretty into it when i make a league. no stone unturned -- i even callibrate the LT/LTM to some preferred range of results (long-term sims for normalizing player talent relative to specific settings). it's a multi-day affair, but they last until next release of ootp.

The one that starts on March 5th can't have Spring Training or WBC in 2018.
