I have never seen a divisional race this close before

Oh this is fun. I have 4 games left in the 2197 season (120 game seasons).

One division has a winner (Charlotte Generals). They are waiting for someone to join them.

In the other division, there are 6 teams separated by 1 game. Non of the teams are playing each other (for the next 2 games) but will see for the final two.

I have never had 6 teams this close at the end of the season.

The Minnesota North Stars are 2 time returning Finley Cup Champions who have been stumbling thru this season. Looks like they have caught FIRE...

One game down... three to go...

North Stars cool off (a little) as do the Presidents..

Acorns and Lords look to take control...

Only 2 games left...

Kansas City Lords control their own destiny...

But if they stumble, 3 teams ready to take the division...

And for the last two games:
the North Stars play the Presidents and the Yanks play the Rockers.

The Lords and the Acorns play teams who have a .500 record...

You may want to stop with on the last day of the season before any games have been played and post your standings. It's possible you might have a tie scenario that OOTP will be unable to handle on its own. In that event, you can manually schedule tie-breaking games.

Lords, North Stars and Acorns win...

It is down to three teams...

All the Lords need to do is win one more.

My very first year in my fictional league, there was a three team tie and one team had to play 164 regular season games in order to make it into the playoffs (not even a one game elimination, I'm talking about just to make it in)

I know this has nothing to do with baseball, but there was a team in the NFL in the late 40s named the Boston Yanks. So the name Boston Yanks isn’t that weird. And in the 30’s the NFL had teams called the Brooklyn Dodgers and the Pittsburgh Pirates (who were renamed the Steelers in 1940). And don’t forget the New York Giants and the St. Louis Cardinals (now the Arizona Cardinals).

It must have been confusing back in the old days.

The football Cardinals were a weird situation, because they inherited their name from Chicago.

Well, of course, in the larger cultural context people who live in Boston are obviously yanks. But, let's not kid ourselves, in the North American baseball context Boston Yanks is, if not a weird name, certainly one fraught with internal conflict. It would be the baseball equivalent of an NFL team being named, oh, I don't know, the Washington Cowboys.
