A way to view organizational depth for every position, + some other things...
One thing I'd really like to have is a way to view how many players I have in my entire organization at each position the way it's done during the Amateur Draft at the bottom of the draft screen... that is, unless there's some other place I can view this, but I've looked everywhere and haven't been able to find it, so I assume it's not there.
At the very least, just take that section from the draft screen and add it as a drop down option for the squares on the Front Office or Manager's Office page so I can see how many players I have at each position at any time and not just during the draft. Along w/ this, I'd also like to see: - The ability to set limits to how many position players each of my MiL teams can have at each position. Or, at the very least, an option to set how many IF's and OF's each team can carry like you can for SP's and RP's in League Settings > Stats & AI. I delegate all of my MiL roster duties to my MiL managers and my Assistant GM, aside from hiring/firing MiL coaches and locking players I manually want to promote/demote. It really irks me when I view one of my MiL teams carrying 2 catchers, 3 more IF's, and 7 OF's in the middle of a season. I understand some of these guys can play other positions, but I'd rather have a natural first baseman playing first base than an OF/catcher/other IF playing out of position to fill a need. My general rule of thumb when setting my Major League roster is: 2 catchers - 6 IF's - 4 OF's... or 2 catchers - 5 IF's - 5 OF's. I'd like for this to be the same throughout my entire MiL system as well. Which brings me to my next request... - Smarter overall AI logic for filling out MiL rosters. I don't need nor do I want to see one of my MiL teams carrying 3 natural 1B and 2 natural 3B on the same team w/ 0 natural 2B or SS. Or 4 natural LF's and 1 natural RF w/ 0 natural CF's. Correct me if I'm wrong, but even if these guys can play other positions, isn't there a "penalty" for playing guys out of position? At the very least, the AI should be smart enough to auto-switch a guy to a position he's more qualified to play and/or to fill out a roster. And then there's getting to the draft and seeing I have 40 total OF's and 25 total catcher's in my organization from top to bottom... yet I only have 5 1B, 7 SS's, and 9 2B total in my org. because my MiL coaches decided their teams are better off firing the majority of 3/5th's of my infield. And good lord, I could find no better example of the AI's MiL insanity than the guy in the below attachment... The Rays signed him in '18 as an MiL FA out of Mexico initially, promoted him to DSL in '21, and was released on April 7th, 2025. Within 23 days, he was signed/released by 3 different teams... A day later (April 8th), he signed an MiL contract w/ the Black Knights (expansion team in my league)... 4 days later, he was released... 3 days later, he signed w/ the Phillies... 8 days later released... 5 days later, he signed w/ the Phillies (again??)... released (again?!) on the SAME DAY ... 2 days later signed w/ the Cubs... finally spent the whole year in their system... became an MiL FA at the end of the season... as the Braves, I signed him to a Minor League deal in January of '26... and in April, he was named the #9 prospect in the baseball. There just needs to be better AI logic all around the MiL system right now... |
