Are player ratings different between 18 and 19?

I use a ratings system out of 20. Ay pitcher with 10 or less in stuff, movement, or control is pretty worthless in OOTP 18. In 19, you see fewer pitchers with high ratings in stuff, movement and control and guys with a 6 out of 20 rating can be good. In 18, they'd be trash.

If this is an issue, I'm curious how our online league will translate when we upgrade.

Sorry about all the posts. Been meaning to get on here for awhile.

turn off player eval and use 100% accuracy... see if it's the same? (use a restored backup as to not create unneeded scouting reports that you could look back on while playing)

it's different for sure, but probably not as drastic as it looks. i think the middle and low end is fatter in the distribution curve, maybe... as it should be. you'd have to do some side by side comparisons to know for sure.

might just be asthetic in nature too, if the under-the-hood stuff shows to be similar.

i'd check out the improvements they list on the ootp19 release notes... they definitely changed somethign related to players, i just forget the exact wording... likely related if there is a real change.

in a month or two it will seem normal.

I've read on here that movement is down overall because it's a direct correlation with how many home runs a pitcher may give up. IMO that's a knee-jerk reaction to last year's statistical totals in the MLB, but it is what it is. You can try adjusting the weight of 'last year's stats' to see if that helps.

As a commish of an online league, I'm interested in knowing how it may effect my league, but I'm guessing it plays more within an MLB quickstart than any other type of game (unless you use 2017 as you calc year).

The biggest change I've seen is in movement. There's a significant difference with a lot of players there even on 100% accuracy.
