Importing teams from v17

I was thinking I would like to move teams from v17 to v19 but not convert the league. Is this possible?

The reason for doing it this way is that the v17 league has 80+ seasons and what I would like to do is a reset on the players database and start up the new version of the league with current rosters and a random debut database. I don't care about the history so much as keeping rosters/franchises that this online league has put time into building.

So, can I import teams into v19?

That will give me a fresh league completely with exception of those teams and players that I'd like to keep.

I know I can simply convert but I also want to change player databases at the same time and I know no other way to do that.

Let me rephrase this question.

I'm going to start a new league with random debut turned on. When I start that league I'd like to import rosters from my current league so that basically I'm starting a new league but with rosters that are in my current league. Can this be done?

Not the answer you're looking for, but I'm 95%+ sure that is not something that can be done.

You could import the league and then erase the entire history. (League Settings > Options > last button in the lefthand column.)

Perhaps I'm making this more complicated than it needs to be.

How about this question. If I have a historical league that is into 2044, and I do what you suggest and just erase the history. Can I turn on historical random debut and get the same guys who were previously in this league again? So Ryne Sandberg for example could come in as an amateur if at any point I turn on random debut or would I need to reset something else?

That I don't know--I don't play historical anymore, and I've never played random debuts.

All I can say is: try it and find out. If it doesn't work, you at least haven't lost anything (since you'll still have the OOTP 17 version of the league).
