2 Two-way players pitch TOGETHER in a game
So in year 2024, I had 2 two-way player (Brendan McKay, Kurt Brunelle) on my major league roster with one in AAA (Triston Casas) coming up next year. I read a post on reddit last night (forgot where exactly) that inspired me to try the following strategy.
Basically I started both of them in a game, one as pitcher and another as position player (LF). Because they happened to be a lefty and a righty, based on the matchup, I decide who comes in and pitch and who fields in LF. Here's how things go. My offence scored 8 runs after 6 innings (yes Guerrero Jr and Tellez are having monster seasons but Calvin Mitchell in Baltimore is on pace to break Bond's 73 HR record... May post about that when the season is over). But McKay wasn't as dominant as usual. I need more experiments to see if that's because of the constant pitching change. Also, Brunelle, a starter usually, tired quickly because I assume AI treated him as a reliever. I tried to use them to finish the game but it got tight in the end and I had to bring in my closer. It's definitely fun though and I will do more experiments. (The pitching linescore is all messed up) ![]() ![]()

Pretty interesting, I wonder what would happen if a team attempted this in real life. I bet the opposing managers would have a fit, along with the extra time taken to switch. I like these kind of unorthodox things, though. Makes it fun.

The closest thing we've seen in real life is the infamous Orosco/McDowell game, but that was by necessity rather than by choice.
