Play as Current GM

Is there a way to play as the current GM of a team without having to duplicate the GM's name/info when selecting the play as GM mode?

If you are playing as commissioner, why can't you just go to your Manager menu and select "Act as..."? I am reasonably sure that this does not disturb or alter the other GM once you are done acting as...

When you start a game you have the option to play as a GM, Manager, or both. I want to know if there is a way to play as the current GM of a team without having to create a new GM in the beginning.

Not to my knowledge. I know If i wanted to be Kenny Williams i had to create Kenny as me.

So you want to be Jeff Luhnow (as an example)? Ok, just create your GM in the beginning, name him Jeff Luhnow, and take over the Astros. If it bothers you that Jeff Luhnow still exists in the game as an unemployed GM, just use the commissioner mode to delete him.

maybe off topic, but what I do to act as true "commissioner" if I don't want to put myself in the game is just create a fictitious person when you start it up, select a team but them quit your job so you are unemployed, that way every team runs on its own, you can enable commish mode and step in wherever you want. Makes simming early years (starting in 1900s for me) go a lot quicker and you can sit back more as a spectator but step in if you want your favorite team to draft a certain person or make a certain trade.

for your exact situation, looks like that has been solved, create that person, then delete the duplicate that exists in the game...

Just tick the “play in commissioner mode” box when setting the game up and start unemployed. That’s all , once you click continue then the fame will run for as long as you specify
