Avoid US-players in DSL?
Is there any way to make the game avoid putting american players in the DSL?

Here are 3 solutions.
1. Move all your DSL players to other minor league teams and delete the DSL. The international complex makes the DSL a bit redundant. That's what I did. 2. You can simply set the DSL to not allow foreign players under league settings for the DSL. That will prevent the AI from moving American players there BUT it will keep other non-Americans and non-DRs from playing there which isnt' 100% realistic b/c I've heard MLB teams will send other non Americans like Venezuelan or Europeans to play there. 3. This is the most complex way: Setup the league to not allow foreignors AND Create a region that has all nations in it except US (and Canada I'm assuming) and set the DSL under this region so it will allow all non-Americans to be moved there except Americans/Canadians. In other words under this region the only foreignors would be the US/Canada. You'll have to know how to create regions so you'll need to read up on the mods section under OOTP Mods-Names and Nations. The directions are too detailed for me to tell you how to do it here. Last edited by andyhdz; 03-26-2018 at 03:59 PM. |

Can’t you just specify which region you want players to come from? In this case carrabiean? I always thought that was supposed to work, but I could be wrong.

it's just a rookie league -- you can use it or do whatever with it. if there are any foreigner limits .. not sre if that's available as a sub-league of your ML level. simply pull it up and see if it's a checkbox for that league.
unless it's an independent, i don't think you can set the "plaers' %'s as far as where they come from -- that's part of the ml-level options for players - created for draft, iafa, ifa ... etc all controlled at the top league. i've been trying it out as an 'earlier' rookie league for the first half of the season that 1year svc time players can use. then 2 rookie leagues that start in june etc. err i guess i used dsl in the 'summer' and another one earlier. i also did somethign unsual for me and put a max 21 age limit. since it's 1 league playing at that time, i wasn't too worried about a lack of players eligible. there's so many rookie leagues in the 'real' mlb setup, deleting it might even be a good thing, lol. or make it an independent league and tehn you can defintely fix it to only have players from specific countries created for that league. -- definitely move all the players to other rookie teams before changing or deleting it. This is what worked for me, I just set the region for the DSL to Caribbean and it kept out all the US players, they were sent to the AZL/GCL. The only issue I ran into down the road in 18 was that a couple teams would end up with too few players on their DSL teams, so I would have to manually add players to their team so they could play....it seemed to only be the same three teams for some reason, but did not happen every season.
