Custom League with Historical Teams--Opening Day vs. Playoff Rosters

Hello,

I posted this on the bug forum and may not have been entirely clear with what I was asking, so I figured I would post here and see if anybody had any thoughts.

I'm doing a custom league with teams from throughout MLB history. When I add a team (say for instance the '96 Yankees), the roster that gets added to the game is for the team at the beginning of the year, before any trades or signings were made. If I remember correctly, in past seasons the rosters for these historical teams in custom leagues included every player that played on the team that year. Is there a way to get players that joined the team mid-year via trade/signing etc. on the roster for this type of season? I know that option exists for exhibitions, but I didn't see anything similar for custom seasons? (To use my '96 Yankees example I would want to have Charlie Hayes, Darryl Strawberry, and Cecil Fielder among others)
