Park Dimensions/Park Factors and Defensive Alignments

Hi all, couple things I've been curious about for some time but am not quite sure about.

Do the park dimensions in OOTP play a real factor when simming? For instance, if I'm playing as the Yankees (so have more of a spacious left field than right field), will I gain additional benefit by installing the rangier defender in LF as opposed to RF?

Also, should I be caring less about park dimensions and really only be looking at park factors? Are park factors in the game set up such that, for example, the ratio of fly balls hit to right field in Yankees stadium wind up as homers more often than to left field? Or are the park factors set up as a general overall HR factor to all fields, where handedness/pull-tendencies don't really play a factor (outside of platoon advantages)?

Thanks in advance for your responses!

the feet or meters will not matter... it will merely cause a HR to read as >X-feet in the pbp... type in 1000' and it's 1000+feet for a hume run to that part of the park.

so, only the factors matter. hr, doubles, 3b vs LHp vs RHP etc.

i'm not 100% that all of them matter. sometimes the screen doesn't refresh when you press <enter> after typing a new value. you can tell by the cursor remaining in current inpur box or whether it resets to top (refresh). could just be related to what we can read... maybe nothign is updated by those boxes that doesn't cause a refresh, so no need to do so.

a park can definitely be pull friendly... 2 exclusive forces though... player's profile vs park factors. if an extreme pull hitter plays 81 games in a park that heavily favors his pull-side it's an obvious benefit.

go check out some odd parks like fenway. you'll see a difference between left and right field inthe factors. what a circus of a park that is... might as well have a hill and a flagpole out there for no reason too.

i've got it! a shorter CF fence, but a large functioning windmill... that's it!
