Base coaches?

Are base coaches in this year?

If so, I missed my chance to have Mickey Morandini manning first last year

It would be kinda neat to see the 3rd base coach do the "windmill" waving a runner home.

Although I wouldn't necessarily mind, I also don't think this would add too much. What effect would it have on the game? Even if you chose to hire the "best" third base coach in the league over the "worst" one, how many more runs would you score over the course of a year....two?

I don't need to see Butter manning third base for my Sox. I'll take care of when to send my guys, thank you very much.

A bonus would be to have a more accurate coaching staff, as generally people that are base coaches now go into the FA market to be hired as managers. Even if they did not give any benefit, you could have a manager auto-hire their staff, then if a manager doesn't want to re-sign to your minor league team, at least you would have like-minded people to just be able to promote.

Even if they just add them for cosmic Purposes this year and next year they can start making them functional.

And I would like to be able to assign my coaches roles:
Base running instructor
Catching instuctor
Fielding instructor

I want a Strength and conditioning coach as well

I would like a strength and conditioning coach, too. I've gained about 10 pounds lately...

...Oh, you mean in the game? Oh never mind...

why not add umpires too and then watch them argue with players HEHE obviously body language would be interesting in itself. I know this would clutter the screen and rightly left off. However doesn't stop me from enjoying the thought

Having a swarm of flying insects, streakers and cats running on the field would add more to the game than 3rd base coaches IMO.

Sorry but I'm not interested in OOTP turning into "The Sims". Lets keep our little allocated resources to improve it in actual baseball functionality and fixing the bugs imo.

The FA market for managers seems to be full of broadcasters not base coaches.

Umpires could have different strike zones and personalities. Giant strike zone, hardly ever throws out managers. Trying to score on a single, 3rd base coach would "recommend " stay at third or wave him home. 1st base coach would help with when to attempt to steal and help with a pitchers pick off move.

Two pretty big parts (especially umps) of the real game, missing in our game.

I personally enjoy checking an old box score of a game when a pitcher had say 16 strike outs and checking out who the home plate umpire was to see what kind of strike zone he has/had. Was it 16 k's with a small strike zone (impressive!) or with the man in blue behind the plate who's generous to pitchers.

I have been asking for umpires for quite a while. I think it would be neat... clearly the developers dont think it is worth it.

Back in the day ( 1800s ) lots of umpires were X-major leaguers.

I think it would be interesting to have the cup of coffee types resurface as umpires. But like that is just my opinion man
