Backup Goalie getting more starts

I was told there's an update for this issue coming put before Christmas. Does anyone know how to resolve it in the meantime?

No, in GM-only the coaching decisions, including choosing the starter, are up to the coach. He will review his settings occasionally, so if he's using some that make the backup more likely to get starts, that could change. How close are the goalies in terms of ability? The narrower the margin, the more likely the coach may go with the backup if other considerations tilt things in his favour.
