Edit Historical Player Development Budget?

Im playing a historical sim and would like to set the player development budget to 0 for all teams. I see where to do that in the League Settings / Finances page, but at the end of each season the total go back from 0 to another number. Is there a text file somewhere to edit it so every year the player dev budget is 0 or do I need to go back and change it after every season?

ugh i don't know filename, but pretty sure this stuff is there.

Inside:
../data/database

various files used to build dB... you can defintieyl change LTM/LT's... from a glance..

looking for a file name that fits... don't see anythign that contains those budget values.. tehy must be proporitonal to other variables of the game ...

so, you'd just have to set baseline to "0" for development budget in Financial Settings, i think?

hope "baseline" makes a zero budget not have any negative effects... may want to sim out and compare before you turn it off, then turn it off and sim out some more to see the difference it causes on developement.

** some historical settings of choice could make that moot for the most part... e.g. re-cacl and make it adhere to histroy in other stict ways.

Thanks for the reply. I looked around in the stats and database directories but didnt see anything there so I wasnt sure if I was just missing something. I was hoping it would be in something like financials.txt or era_modifiers.txt and could just be edited to 0 for all years. I didnt see anything like that in the db_structure files either. Ill just try to remember to set it to 0 each season.

Geez. I never thought to do that. I just set it back to zero on day one of the offseason every year. After a glance at the financials.txt file, I can confirm that no such setting exists, so back to the first day of the offseason switcheroo for me I guess.

Why do you want the player development budget at $0?

Its just one less financial issue for me to worry about. After a couple of seasons I realized that I was not setting any kind of value and all the other teams were and it made my team financials look a alittle "off" compared to the other teams. Id rather just not deal with it at all and have it set to 0

It's historical. A player development budget is pretty much optional because players are going to develop as they did IRL. I just recently started switching it off when I realized this.

just set baseline to zero - if not Financials, it's in options? or maybe game settings? can't be hard to find.

if you zero out your budget, it would only be fair to make sure you don't gain that "advantage" over the AI.

assumes you have development off, of course. not all settings wil make it a moot point in regard to historic play.

i was tooling around in those directories.. i didn't see it anywhere else either -- not just database folder, but any potential related folder in the "data" directory.

any txt or odb file might help.. if oyu only looked in the one, might want to search for *.txt and then *.odb and look over what is returned (sort by folders, so you can easily ignore your saved game .lg directories)

heh.. or maybe not.. check in teh saved game directory itself.. maybe the file is created after the game is made. in the end, we jsut may not have access.
