Waiver Question

I was under the impression that if more than one player claims a player, then 1. Priority goes to a team within the same league as the team the player is being claimed from.....and 2. Priority then goes to the team with the worse win/loss record.

In my case, I am Philadelphia, and the Brewers have claimed (as I have as well) Luis Avilan. He's a nice lefty option piece for a bullpen, but nothing special.

As you can see, I received notification my bid is invalid due to a team with higher priority also claiming the player. (Brewers)

From what I can tell, my team has the worse win/loss record. Is there are reason Milwaukee is receiving this priority?

Here are MLB rules:

• When a player is on waivers, other teams can submit a claim. If more than one team does, those in the same league as that player's team get first priority, starting with the club with the worst record on the day of the claim. Then, the priority moves to the other league, starting with the worst record. For example, if a National League team puts a player on waivers, the NL team with the worst record gets the first shot at him, and the last-place American League club would be right behind the top NL club.

But on a positive note, I am noticing that the AI is going after quality waiver claims much more aggressively in OOTP 18 than in previous years, so this is a good thing!!

Same with Free Agents!

Not that this applies here but the first 30 days of the season is also based on last years record as well. Looks like you are past that 30 day mark (based on games played and date) but that is another item to think about in the future
