Good evening once again, baseball fans! This is "One Padres Way", the Padres report! I'm your host, Matt Stanley. Welcome back!

Well, the title of this thread mirrors the new attitude of the San Diego Padres this offseason. Tired of being the irrelevant, vanilla team of the MLB, the Friars have just had enough and are putting an end to their nationwide image! With only a few postseason appearances in their entire existence, the Padres have hired a brand new GM in the form of ForeverRoyalKC! FRKC brings a fresh, brash, exciting attitude to San Diego and his outlook is NOW!, not "in a few years" or "on down the road!" He feels the Padres can get to the postseason in 2018 with the right moves and giving the organization a swift kick on the a*s!
Hired on November 15th, FRKC got to work right away and fired both Assistant GM, A.J. Preller and manager, Andy Green. It wasn't long after that, he offered the GM job to Andy Viano and the manager job to former major leaguer, Brett Butler. It is being rumored that ALL jobs are in jeopardy as FRKC might be looking to clean house from top to bottom!
Following the management moves, he quickly focused on the players. He immediately began going over the roster and seeing just what kind of deals, trades and moves needed to be made.
It is clear that FRKC has come into this job with something in store for the Padres organization, the fans and the city of San Diego! He has a clear cut mission in taking the Padres to the World Series and their first championship!
In the next "One Padres Way" report, we will follow up on a persistent rumor that is getting stronger by the hour and just might come to fruition before we see you again!
Well, that's all for now! I'm Matt Stanley. Have a great night, folks, and Good Night from Petco Park in San Diego!

"Hello everyone and welcome back to "One Padres Way", the official report on the 2018 San Diego Padres! I'm your host, Matt Stanley! Let's get to it, we have some incredible news to relay to you fans!
New GM, ForeverRoyalKC has taken a great step forward with the Padres organization and their fans! Last night, a blockbuster trade! First baseman, Will Myers was sent to the Oakland A's and, in exchange, the Padres receive right fielder, Khris Davis! Davis lit it up for the A's in 2017 and looks to bring that heavy bat with him! The fan reaction to losing Myers was somewhat of a "meh" with a shrug of the shoulders from the fans while getting Davis had an amazing reaction! It seems FRKC has got the fans attention with his very first move of the new regime!
Now a special surprise....we have our new GM on the line with us and we hope he will give us some insight to his method of bringing winning baseball to San Diego!"
Stanley:Good afternoon sir, welcome to San Diego! FRKC:Thanks Matt! Glad to be here! I'm excited to be here and excited for the city and fans of this great franchise! Stanley:Now, there has been some strong rumors of who you were eyeing as assistant GM, free agents you're looking at, can you give us any insight to these rumors? FRKC:Well, Matthew...be glad to. We have made an offer to Andy Viano as assistant GM. He had the qualities and tangibles I was looking for and as I kept talking to him, I realized he and I were on a same wavelength as to what it takes to give a franchise a lightning charge. He hasn't been hired yet, but we are very encouraged he will be brought into the fold. We were talking to Alex Anthopoulos and had a great conversation with him. I have great respect for what he built in Toronto, but we just didn't seem to click perfectly like I wanted. As far as the free agents go, I cut ties with the whole Wil Myers experiment. Throughout his career, it seems everyone was waiting for him to hit the big stride and turn into the player that the Royals saw a few years back. We felt, as did he, that maybe we both needed new starts and the trade with the A's came with his blessing. There was no hard feelings. Some say it was risky to trade a starting first baseman like that, but we have some money to play with and we are zeroed in on one name we hope to reel in and be our first baseman for a long time to come! Naturally, I won't say who, but I imagine you, the fans and the nation will have fun trying to figure out who it is. And that's, part of the fun of the MLB offseason *chuckles*
Stanley:*chuckles* Ok, sir, fair enough. Can you comment on rumors the Padres are eyeing both starting pitcher Lance Lynn and right fielder, J.D. Martinez? FRKC:Yeah, Matt...my comment is no comment *laughs*. Stanley:Ok, can't blame me for trying, sir! FRKC:No, Matt, I don't blame you at all. I know the excitement that is running thru the city right now and, again, that's part of the fun of the MLB offseason! Fans chomp the bit and almost bite it in half when they think or fantasize about what players will be in their hometown uniforms. I understand why you ask. Stanley:What is your philosophy? You come with a "reputation" of NOW!, not later. FRKC:That's exactly right! This team has the talent to get to the next level! No "in three years", no "down the road", no "rebuild", All they need is to have the confidence to shed the image that has dogged them for years and let the rest of the MLB know that they will show up to win every game. If they lose, the other team will know they have been inn a fight and will be wiping their brows with a "Damn, that wasn't easy" when they go to their locker room! I believe I can get the right people and players here to kickstart this like yesterday. The Royals and Cubs showed us the blueprint to win and I believe this team has that blueprint. They just have to build the championship from the blueprint! Stanley:Well sir, it sounds like you are a very busy man and we won't keep you! Good luck to you and the team and we look forward to what you have in store! Thank you for your time and we hope to have back soon! FRKC:Well, thanks again, Matt! I will be back as soon as I can and I look forward to making great friends and memories with you and the city of San Diego!
Well folks, there you have it from the man himself! I think it's best we hold on and strap in! It looks like the 2018 ride will be fast and full speed!
Thanks for tuning in everyone! We'll be back soon with more news, rumors and good stuff from the NEW San Diego Padres! From Petco Park in San Diego, I am your excited host, Matt Stanley. Take care and have a good afternoon, folks!

Be wary of Khris Davis's defense, it's horrendous.

A good Sunday to you all. Welcome back to the official 2018 San Diego Padres report, "One Padres Way!" As always, I'm your host, Matt Stanley. New GM, ForeverRoyalKC and his staff, made a trade today as former Padres' pitcher, Jarred Cosart was traded to the D-Backs for starting pitcher, Patrick Corbin. Cosart was 13-13 with a 4.24 ERA in 199.1 IP. he gave 19 home runs with 75 walks.
Corbin sported a 4-4 record with a 5.55 ERA in 121 IP while giving up 21 home runs and 48 free passes.
This may not be a popular decision with the San Diego fans as they have seen the difference in the stats and wonder if FRKC has made his first mistake.
Says Padres' fan, Charles H.: "I'm not sure about this trade. I was estatic about the Khris Davis trade, but I wonder if we took a step back with this one!" Jason J. said: "He goofed here! We should have let Cosart try and turn it around, see if he could get a winning record next year. I think we downgraded!" Samantha L. had this to say: "I put my trust in the new GM. I don't think it's as bad as it's being made out to be. Maybe he is mediocre, maybe he is just what we need. We'll see."

FRKC released this statement to the press just after the trade:
"I have had my eye on Patrick for a while. Even though I wasn't in baseball as Patrick has built his career, I have been a fan of his and there is just something about him that I have picked up on. I truly believe he can come in here and be a real contributor to our club and our mission."

Slowly but surely, the new GM is methodically putting his pieces in place. There is major buzz around Petco Park that we might want to keep our eyes focused on November 24, the start of free agency. This "buzz" just might be the big free agent FRKC was eluding to in our brief interview. I know I, as well as all of you Padres fans, will be excited for the 24th to see if the club makes an immediate offer to a big name! We just might have some early Christmas presents! I can't wait!
Well, that's it for now, folks. I'm your host, Matt Stanley. Thanks for tuning into "One Padres Way" from Petco Park in San Diego!
Good night, everybody!

*DISCONTINUED*
Sorry again, everyone. I made one last attempt to do a big franchise report and I just cant seem to do it. I wont ever try again as I dont want to be the boy who cried wolf. If I am able to come up with some kind of mini report on something I am doing, I'll do it. But I wont be trying any major reports again.

THANKS to all who was interested and was reading.
