New online game mode???
I saw the article posted the other day about OOTP looking to expand the company and also trying reach a new audience/group of baseball fans. They mentioned the possibility of an online platform too. I propose this...
A new game mode that gets 8-32 (ish) people that have 45-60 mins to sit down and play a full season of OOTP but you start with a draft. It would be similar to the draft mode in Madden where you have a base team and you have 12-15 rounds to pick from players rated higher than the base team. After you draft your team, you play against the other teams drafted by the other players online with you. You play to see who wins the world series for that year. Thoughts?? Same here, no interest. I play single mode only, and used to be in a ton of leagues, but single mode only for the last few years. Although, if the online thing helps the OOTP company, then that's fine.

I don't hate the idea, but the question would be, how often would you actually play this game mode with a fixed roster set before it gets a bit boring? And, do you find enough players for that, like, is the interest actually there.
Good thing would be, OOTP has a ton of players in the historic database, so you could expand the MLB Roster by historic players(like, draft a 2013 Miguel Cabrera for your team, or a 1898 Cy Young). Of course, this is all speculation as we don't now how this online game enviroment will actually work. |

Only interest I have in any of this would be for my brother and I to be able to play a single league. I usually play NL and he plays in the AL so head to head wouldn't be very often. But I want to be able to play out our games.
I tell him all the time that I am (by far) the superior GM but I would like to prove it to him directly. |
