External File Locations and associations with OOTP game

I am interested in compiling a list of all OOTP files and locations.
As well as relevant associations and interactions between the internal workings of the game as opposed to files I may freely alter (edit), delete, rename, and/or move external from the game (i.e. through my operating system or other application or tool) without noticing or experiencing any undesirable results within my in-game OOTP Baseball experience.

Such a list for my own personal reference is my primary goal. An immediate personal goal is to reduce the size (and bloat) of files I do not necessarily need to carry along from month to month.
I might as well start compiling the list publicly on this forum. I hope we may collectively work toward a comprehensive list.

Unless otherwise noted, all files may be freely copied (to a separate location from the paths/directories/folders used by the game) for purposes of backup and archiving. They may also typically be safely overwritten or copied to as long as the source/destination combination is a comprehensively consistent archive of a prior state of a game file set. A file described as "should not be altered", may obviously be copied for backup/archival purposes (as are all files on a computer disk, in general).
Mixing and matching from more than one archive set may lead to problems if one is not 100% familiar with the interactions between OOTP Baseball and files. For example, copying ballcap files from one source into a different existing set of game files should not lead to too much trouble. Though the results may not always be what is desired.

Paths/Directories/Folders:
Installed Game Path:
Saved Game Path:
Game Data Path:

Database Files:
Location:
.SavedGamePath/LeagueName.lg/
File Names:
coaches.dat
faces.dat
games_in_progress.dat
human_managers.dat
messages.dat
offers.dat
parks.dat
players.dat
retired.dat
scouting.dat
storylines.dat
teams.dat
trades.dat
weather.dat
world.dat
names.dat
text_data.dat
These are core and integral files to OOTP Baseball and should not be changed in any way external from the game (other than copying for archival purposes and subsequently restoring from a prior copy or archive):
One should expect the game to crash or behave in unpredictable bizzare ways if any changes are made to these files. To the best of my knowledge, these files are also proprietary. Effectively meaning that any alterations one may make to these files may be crossing a licensing or legal boundary.

SQL dumps:

Import/Export files:
These files may safely be renamed, moved, or deleted at will, consistent with the game users' intent and desire. Removing these files should not affect any of the internal aspects of the game.
