Bunch of good ones right there. I am using baseball equipment brand divisions. It gives the league a feel of sponsorship.

I like the idea of baseball equipment brands as division names. What are some different names that would work for this besides Louisville and Rawlings?

IMO we are best off abandoning that sinking ship that is Off Topic to the rats infesting it and just starting a whole new Baseball Forum from scratch.

Here's one from the movie 'The Natural' ...

'Wonder Boy'

Perhaps Hobbs started his own bat manufacturing company after he retired. That bat held up pretty good until the end. Oh, and don't forget about the Savoy Special that he helped young Bobby create, and which helped him win the pennent for his Knights. Certainly other major leaguers would have gone to him for their very own magical hand carved bat. A natural business for Hobbs.

Good grief, don't even say this out loud! You're going to give MLB a very nasty idea...

"Hmmm, we have no problem changing stadium names for corporate sponsorship purposes, and the team reaps millions of dollars from doing this. Well then, why don't we auction off the naming rights to our divisions to companies? WHAT A BRILLIANT IDEA!! Thanks PCline26!!!"

I'm getting nightmares just thinking about this possibility...

*shudder*

The scary thing is, I could see MLB actually doing something like this someday. And division naming is only the beginning...

The East Coast Hockey League (2 levels below the NHL) is expanding to the West coast next season. As a result they need a name change. They are entertaining bids from corporate sponcers!!!
