League association thoughts

Someone in another thread mentioned the need for an Association Hall of Fame. I could not agree more. I'd even like to see a toggle feature wherein you could have the AI factor in a player's performance in unaffiliated leagues (international, Negro leagues for historic, tournaments, etc.).

Leagues in association should be able to "share" minor leagues. Say you set up an association between MLB and *** and you had an AA league in Hawaii. You should be able to affiliate the Hilo Stars with the Los Angeles Angels and the Honolulu Dragons with the Yomiuri Giants, considering the parent leagues share the same roster and draft rules because they are associated anyway.

There should be a way to enable player awards for the association playoffs: series MVPs and association playoff champions.

Association playoff results should be reflected in the team and league histories. If MLB and *** were associated, considered equals, and the World Series champion and the Japan Series champion played one another every year in a best-of-seven series, that'd be the biggest annual event in the baseball world, right? Yet right now, the history pages will just note who won the playoffs for each league rather than recording the outcome of the association playoffs. Seems like an oversight.

The drop-down menu with each of the teams and leagues should somehow denote which leagues are in an association. Maybe there could be a little symbol on the right-hand side, or they could be shaded somehow? Just a visual thing.

There should be an option to enable trades between associated leagues even if the league rules don't allow trading with other major leagues. For instance, if MLB and *** were affiliated, maybe I would want MLB to be able to trade with *** only, but ***, the KBO, and the CPBL could trade among themselves. As far as I know, there is currently no way to do this.

I'm not sure if this has already been implemented, but if it hasn't been, there should be a way to count service time in one league as service time in an associated league. So if CC Sabathia signs a one-year contract with the Yokohama DeNA BayStars, I don't want him to be arb-eligible at the end of it, and if Kazuhisa Makita is traded to the Washington Nationals, I don't want them to be able to option him to Triple-A Syracuse. I have seen this happen when signing or trading for players from international leagues.
