Human roster management vs ai moves

Can someone help me with this very topic.

I took over an expansion team in my fictional league, named myself GM and hired an Assistant GM to basically handle the minor league functionality.

I gave myself full control to promote/demote players on the active roster.

When the season ended - a lot of my minor league coaches were not retained - and up until almost opening day - they still hadn't been hired.

I unclicked the box to allow AI to make roster changes and managers in the minors were hired; but now decisions on the active roster - and transactions are being made.

How do I stop this? Can I not have one without the other? If I can't have an Asst. GM - that's fine --- but I want to play this game where I make the decisions on the ML level, and I have never had a problem in past versions with this, do I have a setting off? I have also placed it to Legacy Option and players are still being moved - and I am not doing it.

For example - I drafted a player in the Rule V draft, and I wanted to keep him. I simulated through spring training and thought I would control the opening day roster - well that didn't happen and the Rule V pick was returned. Help!!!

The key things to look out for:
-Make sure you were actually hired, and not just using the "act as". Act As still has the AI in full control of the team.
-Make sure you're not set to "Do Not Disturb". If you are, then the AI will take control and do everything but trades, including managing the roster.

If you are hired, and not in Do Not Disturb, then you should have full control over the roster decisions if that's how you have your controls set up.

I believe I do have it set as "Act as".

How do I change that to actually being hired?

I appreciate the feedback. I really like this version!

The easiest ways would be to change the "Act as" to none (in the menu at the top of the screen, click on your name, Act As, then none). Then at the top of the screen, it should say "UNEMPLOYED. Get a job...". Click on that, and then you should be able to go get hired from the actual team.

What Matt said. In commish mode change act as to none, then go to available jobs and select Apply as GM for your desired team. You should be good to go after that.
