International free agents and service time

I have a question regarding service time/free agency of players that come into the week as professionals and free agents, mostly from Asian countries example to tanaka. I've noticed that if the player signs for less than six years after the contract expires is still arbitration years and the player does not become a free agent . I don't believe that's how it works in real life, no? Can someone please fill me in thanks

i think there's a workaround or stipulation etc in Real-life for that situation. recently, Cespedes wasn't stuck anywhere, for example.

google for rules. way better than anyone's regurgitation of them.

there are rules in the settings about service time and entering/leaving league, you may want to see if any of those relate too.. manual should be enough for location and descriptions.
