General Database Question when importing

Hello, been a while, hope all is well!

I apologize if I or someone has asked this before. I did a search and didn't find it though.

If I used a modified database in an older version of OOTP when I import to a newer version of OOTP will the modified database automatically stay with the existing league that's being converted or do I need to copy over the database for each new version of OOTP?

Most versions have database layout changes so you may find that your modified database does not work or gives weird import results.
