No stats in Inter Cmplx -- Do they actually learn and play games

As a new player, there is much to question. One thing that struck me from the beginning is that players in the Inter Complx have no stats, neither the batters nor the pitchers. I don't see a record of W/L for the team either so they don't play games?

Is it just assumed that they are playing games? Or, is it like pure instructional behind the scenes? How do they learn, train, gain ratings if they don't play? Is this just one of those AI things where they players gain ratings by some odds or random number generator algorithms?

They are training at complexes. At least I think they are.

That's what international complexes are for actually, Professional teams sign 16-18 year olds to contracts and send them to facilities in their home countries to train and get their baseball prowess tuned. Around 18-19 (the age of your usual High School Draft pick) they get promoted to Rookie Level if they are good enough, usually the DSL or the GCL.

it's more of a weigh station... only TCR effects take place from what i understand. you won't see someone 'develop' like you do in the MiL system -- that should be obvious to the eye, because it's drastically different.

any change is either TCR or adjusting of inaccurate scouting as time passes.

based on how things have been explained in forums : higher the rating the more likely it goes down... and the opposite is true too... it's a general push to the center in a very very subtle way -- ie not enouhg to cause a flat distribution of talent after 20 years of TCR.

so, if they are really terrible it's probably best to leave them there as long as possible in hopes a positive TCR occurs... however, if they are rated very well, it's probably best to get them out ASAP, so they can start improving their current ability ratings...

now the real debate starts -- is 16 too young? does it hurt development... i see lots of opinions, including my own, but no real answer. don't let anyone tell you differently...

fwiw, my opinion is that 16 is detrimental to development in MiL system. could be wrong. i know others pop them over immediately... i have done it before and had very bad luck with those prospects... a small sample experience

the problem is no matter when you send them, these things occur... so it's going to require a study of IF it is a worse rate or not, and the human eye is not capable of that alone.

There has been much discussion in the past about when is the right time to promote to Rookie League from INTL. The general approach from my observation is 16,17 is usually too young. Give TCR and scouting some extra time to figure things out as stated above. I usually look at current ratings compared with who they are going to be competing with a spot on the Rookie roster. If their ratings are comparable at 18+ yo I will give them a shot. That is unless at 17 their ratings are so good I just have to give them a shot. I never promote 16yo. Keep in mind that service time clock (if rule 5 is enabled) starts as soon as you promote from the INTL complex. Promoting a 16yo to Rookie League basically means you are hoping that he is 40 man worthy by the time he is 20. That does not happen too often. If you are running a typical organization those spots on the 40 man roster are valuable and saving one for someone that is 2-4 years away from the bigs will probably cost you.

i think they do gain experience at their position based on recent observances...

i did not write anything down... could be a faulty memory too.

they definitely do not 'develop' in a normal way as far as the other ratings are concerned... just TCR it seems and scouting inaccuracy clouding that, even.

Has there been an official statement that only TCR changes occur or is it just assumed?
