This is why I love this...

SIM!

What I wouldn't give to go back in time to watch these guys!

The year is 1969 (I was almost 3 years old, so not old enough to remember), and spring training is almost here!

These are the top pitchers of the 1969 season, according to OOTP. This is a "who's who" of MLB pitching "back in the day".

SOOO many good arms in this list that it's hard knowing that my team will have to face some of them LOL.

There is one prominent name missing from this list, however. And that is Sandy Koufax. I know I could "unretire" him, but he'll be HOF eligible in a couple of seasons, and I don't want to take a chance on 3 years of rust HAHA.

I remember 1969 very well as I was 13, living in Atlanta GA a fierce Giants fan but my second fave team at the time was the Mets! What an exciting year it was in baseball with the Mets coming from 9 down late in the season to pass the Cubs, sweep the Braves in 3 and then beating the Orioles in the World Series. That was the Year baseball became my most enjoyable sport and remains to this day. I attended many games that year in Fulton County Stadium. I saw the Mets and Tom Seaver pitch. The Cards and Bob Gibson and the Giants and Gaylord Perry. I watched my boyhood hero Willie Mays hit homers and the Braves turn a triple play against the Cubs starting with runners on second and third! What a great year it was, I was Bar Mitzvah' d too! It was also the first year of the divisional playoffs too. In school we got to watch the Braves lose to the Mets in the divisional playoffs!! Good times for sure.
