A heartwarming story despite the typos

This is nice. I kind of expected the follow-up (this is an upbeat game, after all), but I smiled when it arrived in my mailbox. Despite the typos.

Perhaps. The important thing is, if somebody asks you now "Oo, ooh! Does OOTP have puppies?" you can answer "Yes, one at least."

This reminds me of the RL business with soccer manager Jose Mourhino's 'missing' dog (it wasn't missing, it was with his wife in Portugal)

Actually, Cryo, are you misremembering this? (Yes, I took your bait and went looking).

Mourinho was part of an unusual event in May 2007 when he was arrested for preventing animal welfare officials from putting his dog into quarantine. The dog had not been sufficiently inoculated but the situation was resolved after it was returned to Portugal and Mourinho received a police caution.

Here's a follow-up story. This is not exactly heartwarming! Weird, but not heartwarming.

That may well be what I was thinking of, yes. Bizarre, but does go to show that nothing in OOTP is really that strange.

At least OOTP is kinder to animals! According to that news article,

Mourinho rushed from the [Chelsea player of the year] awards, took a taxi home and dragged the dog - a Yorkshire terrier - away from a health official who was accompanying the officers. Eyewitnesses told the paper that the Chelsea coach bundled the animal into the street and allegedly set it loose. Westminster City Council said its dog warden was searching for Mourinho's dog.

So, it was about his macho, not poor old Gullit? No further word on whether they ever found the dog.

I like OOTP's storyline better.

That is so cool to actually see my submitted storyline appear in the game. Just a shame that there are typo's in the second half. Hopefully it raised a smile or two, though.

Was that you? If so, thanks. Let's hope that they correct what pstrickert talked about.

I found the article in default_storylines.xml. I highlighted yellow each instance of 'curly quotes' that probably were included and not found as typos when the game tries to display those alternate symbols which were inserted instead. Many programs and browsers don't recognize "curly quotes." (You can't make them here, as you can see.)

Interestingly, in that paragraph were two straight quotes, marked with red arrows, that did make the cut.
