One-star prospect

... wonder if he will ever pan out...

This is from right before the 1914 draft in my historical league. Obviously, he's rated as a pitcher, not a hitter, and he's not listed on the top ten prospects list. Presuming that he is selected by a computer-managed team -- does the Babe get automatically converted to a hitter, or will I have to manually edit him and switch his position? Thanks.

Nah. He's probably not even that good. You should trade him for some cash to put on some rinky dink play.

What do his batting ratings look like?

Assuming that he develops (right now, he's just out of reform school, so scouts expect little of him), you won't have to edit him in order to turn him into a hitter. If he's on your team, you can just change his position. I don't know how the AI will handle him.

If recalc is on he'll become his usual slugging self. If not, the AI may or may not remember to convert him to a batter even if his batting ratings are great (usually they don't).

He has some offensive upside...

I ran the draft- he went to Pittsburgh at the start of the second round. I was picking 13th of 16, and I figured that, because the computer-managed teams were bypassing Babe to select the likes of Braggo Roth and a 31-year-old draftee Ivan Howard in the first round, it would be exploiting the AI to draft him and immediately convert him to the outfield. Now he's stuck hitting in Forbes Field...

The weird thing about that profile is that while his batting potential stats are high, his potential as a pitcher is pretty marginal.
