The Empire Strikes Back
Hey everybody, I've never done one of these before, but I wanted to try my hand at it. Naturally, given our title, I will be playing The New York Yankees, starting in 2017, as a GM/Manager combo.
Before I get started, I figured I'd set the ground rules: 1. I will be trying to do an update once a week, where I give the Hot/Cold players, the team's record, and other stats like that; additionally, these I will write little updates about things like top prospects, players, and whatever other interesting things happen in the league. 2. The leagues included in the game are the MLB, the Japanese Nippon League, the US Independent Leagues, the Korean League, the WBC, and the Olympics. I may or may not add additional leagues for fun. 3. If a starter has a DTD injury on the day of his start, I will skip his start and use a spot starter. 4. I edited Aaron Judge's potential and work ethic (but not his current stats), because I'd like to see him succeed if possible. Anyways, that's all for now, keep your eyes peeled for an Opening Day update. |

Game W/L
4/2 - 3-1 loss to TB (Clippard, 0-1) 4/4 - 10-3 loss to TB (Pineda, 0-1) 4/5 - 3-0 loss to TB (Severino, 0-1) 4/7 - 4-2 win to BAL (Sabathia, 1-0; Chapman 1 save) 4/8 - 6-4 loss to BAL (Tanaka, 0-1) AL East Standings: Boston 5-0 Tampa Bay 5-1 Baltimore 3-1 New York 1-4 Toronto 1-4 Manager Report: Just like the real-life 2017 Yankees, these Yankees struggled out of the gate, unable to get out of their own way. The pitching staff has been prone to giving up the long ball, while the offense has combined for a .272 OBP. That said, it's still too early to make any judgments. |

The offense has begun to get going, led by Starlin Castro and Didi Gregorius, although the middle of the order has yet to really get going. That said, it is still too early in the season for any major changes. Due to Pineda's suspension, Luis Cessa will be promoted to start on Sunday; Ronald Torreyes will be optioned to AAA to make room. |
