No injuries, none, nada, zero, after converting from 17 to 18
League Converted to 18, No Injuries Anywhere
A serious issue I have now encountered with two leagues I've converted from 17 to 18 - no injuries to any major, minor or feeder league player in about a season of simming. Both leagues are online leagues, and I've test simmed a whole season with injuries set to high, but still no changes. I've also double checked the injury check box is enabled - it is. Other online leagues that I'm a GM in have converted from 17 to 18 fine and injuries have been occurring as expected. Have also reimported injury database but still nothing. I've posted a bug and submitted a ticket - just wondering if anyone else has seen this issue. I'm also wondering if it's also related to my ootp 18 simming really slowly (maybe creating a problem on the import) despite using an i7-5600 u with 16gb of ram (simming a monthh of a brand new fictional league with 16 teams and 4 levels of minors took about 10 minutes). Ootp 17 flew compared to this on the same laptop.

Mike forgot to mention that he did create a quick test league and there were injuries when he ran it. it seems that the imported league is the only one with the issue

I noticed Mike sent a support ticket in. I'll be taking a look at it at some point today, will be in touch once I do so

I imported an OOTP17 league and had injuries occur normally, but I imported it before the latest patch.

none of this is an answer, but it might get you going in the meantime.
try something like turning it off, simming a day, then turning it back on. i deleted all the imported leagues after i made templates of them. pretty sure the templates didn't have this problem -- maybe a workarond you can use and re-import players by hand (same fields, same order = importable, but you'll have to paste existing playerid's.. 2seconds to do that, too) anyway, make a template, re-create league, make # of players equal to your existing leauge for player ID's to exist, then export both sets of players, copy playerid over from template created league over your 'real' league players, then import those real ones into the newly created league from the template. since the year isn't changing you don't have to worry about htat... in future if you do this, that is another edit you need to make to the exported data of use. oh, history... no idea.. may have to export more than what i mentioned... i've only done this to transfer players from one league to another en masse. if you are willing to lose recent simming since the import, you could try re-importing... based on what questdog said. at the least you know it's not a gauranteed problem...
but, it may be due to different setting configurations, so don't delete anything if you try it.. until you know it's working and willing to lose that time. see what settigns differ from questdog and try changing them (temporarily) for the re-import. Last edited by NoOne; 05-15-2017 at 11:32 AM. |

Please also check that you don't have a custom injury file in your saved game folder. If you do, and it fails to load, we may not have any injuries in the game. We can look to fix this automatically in the future, but that can be a cause of not seeing any injuries happen.

OK - thanks to Matt for pointing me int he right direction I've got this sorted. Seems that when converting from 16 to 17 (and then from 17 to 18) the custom database folder (that was used in 16) is still being pointed to, which means that the injuries.txt is from 16, and won't load in ootp 18.
Something to be wary of for anyone using custom database paths and converting froma different version of ootp.
