MBLS has openings for 2003 season

The Metropolitan Baseball League System (MBLS), a present day real-time league run by baseball sim veterans, is currently entering its 10th Anniversary Season and is seeking active and committed owners for 10 openings.

If you're interested in building a team from scratch, two of the available teams - the Bronx Brawlers and Bay City Sharks - are expansion franchises that are just entering the league. They will acquire their first players through a dispersal draft scheduled for next week.

Other available teams are the Hartford Patriots, St. Louis Bandits, Chicago Bruins, Los Angeles Stars, Oakland Mules and Portland Pelicans in the Hodges League -- and the Phoenix Scorpions and Sacramento Warriors in the Johnson League.

WHat is the sim schedule and simmed games per

We adhere to a real-time schedule, which means one scheduled day of games is simmed each day during the regular season.

This is a great, long running league (since 1993) that's getting ready to start preseason activities. I highly encourage anyone out there who's looking for a league to check it out.

Is this league planning to update to OOTP5 in the offseason?

There's been no decision regarding the timetable for MBLS moving to OOTP5. We're definitely starting this upcoming season with version 4. Once version 5 has been out for a while and any potential issues addressed, we may consider a switch. You'd have to email the commish for specific details - commish@mbls.org
