Cy Who? Most Dominant Pitchers You've Seen
Just did a historical replay trying to simulate the real 19th Century (with caveats, mainly adhering to roster sizes/rotations as most were 2 Man but teams varied within years. Some teams even had 4 Man Rotations going in the late 1880s).
Despite doing this in the past, I've never had a 600+ game winner until Charlie Buffinton! Also featured Matt Kilroy who won 570+ games himself(!!). As a fun aside, Cy Young himself ended up winning 337 games. ![]()

Both successful 19th century pitchers, although Kilroy had a short career. Kilroy has one of the highest strikeouts per season records, if I recall.

Kilroy does have the strikeout record. But pitching was different before 1893. In my league i think it was Toad Ramsey that set the single season mark of 496. I am using real transactions so Kilroy and Buffinton just played the same as they did in real life.
Cy Young has the most wins for me but lately Lefty Grove as been amazing. 5 Triple Crowns in a row. 1926-1930. |

Yep, pitching, hitting, fielding, and running were bigly different in the early years. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
