Working Portable(USB) Version of OOTP 18
!!!!!!Testing currently!!!!!
Using VMware Thinapp I have been able to create a portable plug in play version of OOTP 18. What this does is it will allow you to put the game on a usb drive and play anywhere. You do not have to unlicense or install the game on another computer.(License is only 2 devices still) If anyone is interested in learning how this is done, then I can provide a how to. Just comment below. Pros: 1. Plug n Play on any computer 2. Saved game on flash drive so you can play it anywhere 3. No more installing on multiple computers 4. No more having to unlicense/relicense the game. Cons: 1. Initial install may happen on new computer. 2. Speed/Performance will drop due to it being on a usb drive. 3. Copy process is difficult and take multiple attempts. 4. Not sure how applying updates will work.(Need an update first) -------------Testing Phase------------------ Tested by installing the game on one device. Licensed that copy and then used thinapp to copy everything. Then I went to a different computer and tried it out and got to playing right away, without having to relicense. Also installed(licensed) on two computers and then tried the flash drive out on another computer. Would not work because the other licenses are in use. |
