Explain the chemistry page

Guys, I'm sort of confused here.

The right side of the screen looks normal to me. A list of pitchers, then hitters, with their morale, and a bar at the top to give us a sense of the overall team.

However, the left of the screen is confusing to me. Does my manager have good relationships with all hitters and bad with all pitchers?

I would say so and if you look at Kevin Cash's page, you will see that he highly favors hitters, so that also makes sense

i think the right side is just Team Chemistry, not overall morale of the player based on the words they chose to use.. although it looks like they've changes some verbage elsewhere, too.. so maybe it is overall. easy to check versus default veiw in player list. the smiley faces should be the same.

also, are those relationships relative.. not absolute as far as how it explains it to us... in teh past the wording used to be "worse" not "bad", and that communicates a different logic.

either way, the relationships things is not likely to be a severe impact for all players on the "bad" list... maybe some are only slightly over the line for "bad" vs. "good", for example. in '17 i've played with coach personality a bit and see almost no noticeable differences on good teams... could be different for non-playoff teams. of the players with a "bad relationship" and have been there roughly the same amount of time.. how is their overall morale differing from each other? any other reason for the deviation? if not it could be that one is only slightly "bad" and the other really hates the coach. (assume a value withing a numarical range that various factors add up.. maybe even accumulate over time = bad vs good relationship)

I would also like to know if I can choose a captain. If not, this would be a great feature later on. It can be used to boost a player's moral or lower some depending on the player personality.

The good and bad are also relative. So someone might have a "good" relationship with one coach but that's still worse for their development than a "bad" relationship with another coach.

As for captains, you cannot name them currently - they come in based on personality and ratings. I thought about allowing some sort of naming of captains, but it gets a little complicated to figure out how best to do that. Maybe in a later version down the line.

The team chemistry pages are blank for my minor leagues. Is that intentional? If so, maybe disable/remove the button instead?

What statistics were used to determine that Cash loves all hitters and hates all pitchers?

I believe that the team chemistry page is available only for the team that you directly control. Let's see if I am right or wrong on this.

This screen is very confusing, please explain better or re-design.

Thank you.

I usually turn morale off because I don't know what to do with the data. I know that it might impact performance, a little bit, and that Marcus isn't going to disclose the math. But, I don't know how to factor it into my decision making......how much weight should I give to leaders or good morale guys, or even hard workers? is it just a tie breaker, or is it worth a half star? I over think it

Surprisingly, this early in the new version cycle, the online manual has a good writeup about this page:

http://manuals.ootpdevelopments.com/...page=chemistry

I understand the page better after having read this section.

Yeah, the whole Team Captain thing has never worked for me :/ I've been playing a league since 1970 - currently in the 1977 season and I've never been able to get someone to fill either the Captain or the Leader roles...
