Is there a way to create a tournament between two teams that contains only playoff games?
I'd like to create a seven game tournament between two international teams without having to add any preliminary games. I couldn't generate a schedule without adding at least one preliminary game.
Essentially, what I'm trying to do is tantamount to scheduling a season without any regular season games, only one playoff series. I've never tried to do that before. Is this possible?

dola,
Nevermind. It's not mandatory to schedule preliminary games in a two team tournament outside the championship as I first thought. You can just enter zero in the "Number of Games per Team" field and it will automatically jump to the championship. I got confused because when I went to generate a new schedule after entering zero in that field, I got an error message.

Just to confirm, you can't do a club tournament can you? I was hoping to have a pre-season knockout competition but alas no. Only if I create winter league affiliated teams by the looks of it, which might not be bad but a bit of an unnecessary workaround.

I don't think that's possible. Then again, I haven't tried to set up such a tourney, so I can't really say definitively.

Manually you can create a pre-season tournament. It's not that hard. Use the schedule editor and update it after every day's play(make sure the winners advance to the next round). Play them under exhibition or spring training games.
This has been available all along so it shouldn't be a problem. Last edited by Orioles1966; 03-22-2017 at 05:52 AM. |
