Owner requested that I resign Ichiro. Sadly he had retired.

This may have happened in 17 as well although I never ran into it. Game is amazing. Running allot slower on Mac though

Yes, the owner goals are assigned before players decide whether to retire. The goal will simply be ignore the next year when the owner evaluates it.
