Scheduling Quirk

I will state up front I am new to the game and this could be a user error. I bought the game along time ago and played it at the default settings and never changed anything. I recently purchased 2017 and have created a fictional league with 2 sub leagues, each sub league with 25 teams (5 divisions of 5). 50 teams in total. I am trying to setup a balanced schedule with 144 games in total with no interleague play. This means each team would play the other 24 teams in their league 6x for 144 games. I set 144 games while creating the league. All but 2 teams from each league are playing 138 games. The other 2 teams are playing 141 games. I am looking for any ideas what I am doing wrong. I created a new test league, regenerated the schedule and no luck.

Thanks

The game's scheduler won't be able to handle that. It doesn't deal with leagues that have an odd number of teams very well, even if there's no interleague play. You'll need to check and see if anyone has made a schedule like that before and posted it to this subforum,* or else ask someone if they'd make it for you.

*EDIT: I checked - no one has.

Thank you for answering my question. Thats a bummer. Seems pretty straight forward. Are people typically using the schedule creator program?

There's no schedule creator program that can accurately do this kind of schedule.

Well, it's not really straightforward. Any schedule for a league with an odd number of teams is going to be difficult, just because you will always have at least one team that is idle. The OOTP scheduler simply can't do that - it can't do interleague schedules either, which are also difficult.

Luckily for you, there are people who frequent this subforum who are not afraid to tackle these kinds of difficult schedules. You might want to reach out to them to see if they'd be willing to take on this task.

Good to know. I don't want anyone to create a schedule for me. Ill just look at the schedules already made. Thanks for the help!
