Financial Strategy Discussion: Free Agency

Who feels it is wise to not spend money needlessly, even if you have it to spend? Is this a good strategy in OOTP? Does it help you later down the road?, or is the best strategy still: you you have it, spend it....particularly on short term contracts if possible?

I often find that if I don't spend money, I end up in January paying for mediocre players because the best players took contracts higher than I was comfortable with. Next league I form, I'm going to be more aggressive early.

but I guess my question comes down to this when it comes to free agent funds: If you don't use it, is there a good possibility you'll lose it? (owner)

It would be nice to KNOW exactly what your owner's plans are.
