Expanded league and now minor league schedules for my 2 new teams do not generate
So I started a MLB season. Did immediate league expansion via commish settings. Added 2 teams. Major league schedule looks good, but I've noticed that for both of the teams I added, their minor league team schedules never get created.
Am I doing something wrong? I did realign some teams to be more regional, but it's still 2 leagues, 3 divisions that are 5 teams, 5 teams, 6 teams. ??? |

It's the very first day after creating the league and I didn't advance any. The next day is opening day.
Should that be preseason? I can still edit the player development budget so I think it is. |

Did any league end up with an odd number of teams?

No. 16 in both.
What I think it might be is the minor league schedules don't know what to do with an extra 2 teams. Just a guess... |

Did you click on the "Generate Schedule" button for each league after you realigned the teams? Per the manual, "Any time you edit the structure of your league, you typically should generate a new schedule that takes into account the changes you have made. If you fail to do so, it could result in new teams not having any scheduled games, etc." I think there's a warning about it on the league structure page itself, too.

I did. Went to the AAA International league, "generate fictional schedule", and it throws an error about not being able to use interleague play or an unbalanced schedule.
I've turned interleague off and checked the balanced schedule box, and it still throws the same error. Hmmm.. I wonder. Maybe I need to start it as a Fictional league since I'm going with a 5-5-6. 5-5-6 division setup with expansion. Last edited by wildstar; 05-08-2016 at 01:54 PM. |

I even just tried a new league with no realignment, immediate expansion of 2 teams. One to NL West, one to AL West.
Recreated the schedule and it created the Majors one fine. Try for the AAA PCL league and it throws the error about interleague play being off and using a balanced schedule. When I do set those as it asks, still get the error. Hmmm |

Solved this. I didn't realize that each individual minor league has it's own settings. I thought it was just the MLB league. Once I changed the settings for each minor league, I could generate a correct schedule.

If that didn't work you could always manually add the game to the schedule.

Hopping in on this old thread since this is where google brought me...
I'm in a similar boat, 3rd attempt at getting a fresh season with 2 expansion teams working. This time around I simmed a full season and created the 2 expansion teams at the start of the off season. Scheduled and held the expansion draft. Went through the offseseason and am now sitting at Feb 3rd: Preseason begins. If i go into league settings and select AAA from the drop down, when I try to generate a fictional schedule it says schedules can only be generated in the pre-season. Is there a different pre-season for the minor leagues? |

Yes. From the Play menu you will see when preseason begins for each level.

Here is a screenshot.. The calendar behind is for June, and is empty (as are all other months) Screenshot. My lineups and rotation for AAA and AA are valid, but below that they aren't. Not sure if that has anything to do with it... Last edited by FlaviusFlav; 11-07-2016 at 08:36 PM. |

Ah ha.. interesting. Although i had switched my view to AAA i hadn't changed that league button at the top to AAA. It wasn't obvious to me that those two were operating independently. Now i can see that the pre-season begins on Feb 7th. Thanks!
