Is there an Optimal Maximum Cash Balance?

On the financial settings for the league, where you can set Cash Maximum...is there an ideal level? What is the pros/cons to a high or low value?

depends on how much inflation of player salaries you are comfortable with.

use what you know as a baseline. e.g. i use 10M max cash. teams average ~125M payrolls. I'm not saying it will be a 1:1 increase, but relate it all back to % of your baseline average payroll, and you will have an idea of the type of inflation you could see.

so any change i make i will look at the increase (difference of new max - old max) as a % of avg payroll and have a good idea of how much it will increase salaries in the league.

it's not a flat effect across the league, liek some other financial settings. if you make it large, like 100M-200M i'd bet it's going to make the larger markets that much stronger year-to-year. i think this affects extensions the most, too. they might start to ask for 50M for an extansion and only be able to get 30M in FA.
