How do random rookies from all eras and real minor leagues interact?

Do you get random rookies from all eras joining the league as their minor-league selves if you have both of these options on?

They don't!

Random debut and the historical minors won't work together, you can only select one or the other.

Weird. In my game you can totally have both options selected. I first had the random debut option selected, then I clicked on the real minor league and it didn't de-select the other option. I then simmed to a point where the draft pool is revealed in a brand new league. In a small sample size of an eye test, it appears the historical players are coming into the league 2-3 years younger than their MLB debuts.

edit -

I created the league with real minor leagues off. Then clicked on the option after the league was already created to import & maintain real minor leagues and also clicked on the option to use random rookies from all eras. I just deleted the entire draft pool and reloaded it. I don't think I'm getting minor-league versions of the players. Yes, they're 2-3 years younger than their MLB debuts, but almost all of the players are fully developed. Bummer. I was really hoping to be able to get undeveloped Hall of Famers. That would be cool.

Hmm, that's very interesting. Pretty cool actually!

You may've come up with a bit of a crack, but what you're doing is not anything that was designed to work the way it's happening, at least to my knowledge, so there will almost certainly be some issues.

Example one being the fully developed young HOF types you're seeing.

I agree that it'd be cool to see things work as you were hoping they would. That's undoubtedly something for a future version of the game!
