Bullpen roles

Obviously the bullpen roles in OOTP are pretty self-explanatory and straight forward. My question is how well does the AI handle pitchers who you list as "Specialist"?

Anyone have any experience with using that role for RPs?

I use the lefty specialist and it seems to work well. I use it only with lefties with extreme splits who I don't want facing righties at all. The AI seems to use the specialist role as a one batter appearance most of the time. My only complaint is I've seen it pull the lefty specialist and replace him with another lefty when the opponent has back-to-back lefty hitters. But I haven't looked at it close enough to see if it might be a stamina-driven move.
