Can't start game

Okay, I just purchased OOTP 5 today and when I first started the game, the lettering was very un readable. I thought this might have something to do with my screen size, so I made my screen bigger, now the game loads, but all I see is a black screen. I can click on links to the game, but I can't see what I'm doing. If someone could please help that would be great.

You need to make sure that you are running the game in 1024x768, have direct X 9 installed(preferrably) and also have your video card drivers updated.
