Corrupt Game

Is there a way to fix corrupt files? I was really enjoying my Oriole season... they were killing it... I went to load the game and now it says it is corrupt. Any help would be great! I'll put the link for the game file below.

if you have a back-up, hopefully a recent one, you should be able to use that to restore your game. a while back i read where a player's world.dat file was bad and someone was able to help, but i couldn't find the thread. Good luck.

I didn't have it backed up... So it's looking like I might be out of luck...

The dat files look different... they changed for some reason...

Maybe go to the tech support forum to see the procedure for reporting this and then not bumping this thread every 12 minutes and getting your nose out of joint because people don't rush in to help you straight away on a weekend? Just a thought.

I dont think you can fix corrupt files hence the corrupt in the name(pf course i could be wrong). Just remember next time to have a backup. I like to backup at start of each offseason

Without a backup which you need to be making regularly then major stuff that happens many times can't be fix

just saw this thread - as i had a similar problem today - lost my world.dat file due to a tinkering i should not have done ... anyway, i went to my backup and all is good ... anyway .... follow this link. it explains how 1 person got a corrupt file to work. The work around is near the bottom of the page. hope this works for you as well.

yes, it appears something went wrong with your files and they are corrupted. However, you should be able to recover your league from the auto_save folder. It may be a few days before your current save, and there's a chance that certain text items, box scores, or news messages may not be totally consistent, but it does load for me to June 9th in your game, and you should be able to continue playing.

My save on OOTP 16 went corrupt and when I upgraded to OOTP 17, I transfered it and it worked agian.
