Schedule options

I know this has been mentioned often and it's almost impossible to do a schedule generator, especially with complex league structures. It's been a long time since I played SOM but it seems like they had a basic schedule generator where you input the number of home/away games each team had against each other and then it would produce a schedule. I don't know if that would be feasible for OOTP.
Also, if we could do more in the editing of the schedule for example if the schedule we are using has 3 consecutive days off for all teams and we wanted to delete those 3 days to get rid of the off days or if after we made our schedule and we decided we want 4 or 5 off days for an all star game, let us insert blank days.
