Music in Game Mode

I noticed that they kept the clip from Billy Squier's The Stroke when you play the game, but there is another rock clip that plays and I was wondering what the name of it was. Also I was wondering if I could import my own clips in when I play to get the kind of feeling for walk up music like in a real stadium.

Supposedly, yes. See this section of the manual: Out of the Park Baseball Manual

I've been playing since OOTP 12, but never really used the game mode consistently until 14. I like them lol The Stroke is good

You can indeed import your own "music" or crowd sounds. There was a guy a few years back who made a file that had intros for everyone in the majors. At least the starters.

The files need to be in .wav format, and named appropriately. Cheering fans should be named as such, and if it's a player intro or walk up music the name of the player must be correct.

This is most probably the most under utilized feature of OOTP. That's probably due to the fact that most people don't play out the games, they sim in blocks.

The walk-up music mod files are still available at OOTP Mods under Other.

Those would really only be good for if you were playing that particular year that he made them for. Would be cool if someone were able to come up with a mod that had "correct" walk up music for all players, instead of the cpu generated voice over.

FWIW..I created those walkups on ootpmods and there not cpu voice overs..
To create your own. just name the clips the same as the player's name (replace the underscores with space). Place them in the sound folder. Keep your clips at 7 seconds or less.
Somewhere on the net there used to be a site that listed the players and the wakup music they used..unfortunately I don't have that link anymore, but google should find it.

It's almost one of those secret things in the game that rarely gets a mention. If I remember correctly it was never mentioned as a feature as such when it was first implemented.

I take my 17 rally sounds and copy them as intro sounds. I get a nice variety.

Been playing for 5 years and didn't know it even existed until now... All this time, I've just bought the audio version on MLB.com for 19.99 and from March to October, listened to real games (you can listen to replays when a live game isn't on). I may now enable sound and try this out.

The mystery third song in OOTP17 is:

"Wait Until The Summer's Gone" by Zebra

I thought I knew it; I thought it was Zebra (since I was a fan of their when they were putting out music); Siri and Soundhound were no help but bringing the song up on YouTube verified it for me..

Booyah!
