Help! What am I missing??
I set up a 1930 Historical replay. I asked for minor leagues. It loaded them properly with players. I simmed through major league spring training.Minor leagues played ok.
Trying to start the season and play opening day. I have the following two problems: A) On the Rosters and Transactions screen I am unable to select the secondary 40 man roster display. It does not show as an option in the dropdown box. B) When I attempt to advance to opening day I am getting the following dialog box "The Brooklyn Robins still have non-roster invitees on their active roster. Today is opening Day, every player on the active roster whos is not on the secondary(40 man) roster has to be demoted now." The legend "*" to show if a player is on the 40 man roster does not display for any player on the 25 man active roster. Basically I cannot see the secondary roster, actions for individual players do not allow a demotion to minor leagues, and none of my 25 man roster have an * to indicate they are on the secondary roster. Very frustrating. Any help would be appreciated. I am on the last updated version of OOTP 17 Thanks in advance, Ken |

Check League Settings, Rules, Roster Rules. Next to Secondary (40-Man) Roster Size, do you see "Rule Disabled" by any chance? Because, you can have a full set of minor-league teams without using a Secondary Roster.
EDIT: By the way, as I just found out when I tested it, if the Secondary Roster rule is off, it may also have turned off other options like Waiver Period Length, Enable (Minor League) Option Years, and Enable Rule 5 Draft.

There was an MLB rule change in 1931 that caused this. There's another thread about a month ago that had a work-around. Do a search for something like "1931" and "rule change" and you might be able to find it. Sorry I can't remember more.
When you get past 1931, things work fine again. And I think they're working on a fix for 18. All part of the teething pains for historical minors.

Deja Bru:Thanks for responding. No I don't see 'Rule disabled), but it does say that the secondary roster can be 40 players.

BigRed75 thanks for responding. I searched using your suggestions and a couple others but could not find anything.

Ken,
Fix is at the bottom of this thread. Basically, turn 40-man rosters (extended roster rule) off until you get to 1932. http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...-invitees.html
