My Minor League System

Here I am at the end of the season. My minor league system is ranked 15th in a 36 team league.

And yet....

I'm looking at my guys on all of my teams (7 in all), looking at their stats for the season and their potential, and my urge is to release everyone and start all over again because I think everyone sucks.

Maybe I feel this way because I have two holes to fill on my MLB team, my owner is giving me hardly any money for free agents, and I have no one to call up to fill the spots. Or maybe it's the frustration of finishing a few games over .500 and missing the playoffs due to a bad first half.

I know the rational thing is to calm down, think it over, concentrate on the good prospects I do have, and find a couple of good value players in the free agent market. But geez, it can be frustrating at times.

(note: This is why I love OOTP. If it were easy it wouldn't be as fun and rewarding)

Ok, maybe I was a little too hard on my minor leaguers. I don't want to release all of them because I think they all suck.

A guy who was a 18th round pick (25 rounds) out of high school has developed into a 5 star potential outfielder and can skip AAA ball.

So it's not a total loss.

It takes a few years for me to become familiar with my minor league system. I'm very thorough when it comes to handling minor leagues, as I draft as well as promote and demote players manually.

Same here. It was a just really bad year for my minor league teams and no one had a stand out season. It was frustrating to look at.
