New to OOTP and baseball

Hi all

My names Shaun and I am from Scotland, We don't play baseball here at all but I like the concept of it. I recently bought OOTP 17 on steam knowing very little about baseball but play other sports sims. Can anyone offer any advice or tips to help a complete newbie.

Welcome to this wonderful game and forums. I think you should review the threads especially this one to see what questions have been ask and answered; if you want to ask more specific questions feel free and you will find plenty of help in this location.

BTW, there is baseball in Scotland, although it's mostly in Edinburgh and Glasgow.

Oh never knew that, don't think it's quite on the level of the American baseball.

Thanks I'll check it out !

Yeah, I'm sure it's pretty low-level, but watching baseball is a pretty good way of getting the hang of the game.

If you want to watch some American games, MLB streams a free game every day. And no blackout restrictions for you since you're not in the US!

Regarding the game of baseball itself, see this post of mine that I made for somebody else in your situation. I hope you enjoy baseball and OOTPB.

Once you've gotten up to speed on the game of baseball itself, I recomend checking out this reddit post for some tips on how to set up your ootp game. You don't necessarily have to abide by it completely but there are some nice tips in there to check out that helped me when I first got ootp.

OOTP is an incredibly deep game, so it may be a bit overwhelming at first, especially for someone new to baseball. But I'd recommend reading up on as much about baseball as you can and just keep learning. Don't get discouraged; keep at it, don't stop learning, and eventually you'll be more than comfortable with the game.

Thanks for the advice guys. Simple things for you is confusing for me. Gonna do a little more reading up, then start a game.

Thanks again
