Question about impending free agents

When you have a player who is due to become a free agent at the end of the season, is there any way of knowing in advance (or at least guessing with some reliability) whether they'll be a Type A or Type B free agent? Especially before the trade deadline. Many thanks!

Same question here. I've played 35 seasons on mlb 16 and I'm using a "no free agent" strategy, so getting type a's is critical for me to keep the team stocked. It seems like the type a isn't based on rating, and it doesn't seem to be based on usage/performance.
